Intro to Bounters

I loved playing Counter Strike: Source in my childhood. I'm sad that most players moved to CS:GO, and also I'm surprised that there are some active community servers in CS:S. Now, I am playing Escape from Tarkov and I love it. I tried other extraction shooters; The Cycle: Frontier, Hunt Showdown, and COD Warzone DMZ. All of those are nice game, and I really want to make a game with the aspects of those games I love.

Therefore, I am developing Bounters. It is a extraction shooter without any costs about setting up your gears. It is competitive like Counter Strike, which has round and winner system. Anyone can download the server file and host their own community server and tweak configuration as well. Of course, there is a field editor, so you can create your own field if you are creative enough and play with other players.

Weapons

Weapons are important factor in Bounters. Therefore, of course, more weapons will be added, so I am prioritizing to implement most actions of firearms; break action, pump action, lever action, bolt action, muzzleloader, semi auto, full auto, and bullpup (this is not really an action, but it has its own reload animation). I am expecting that implementing these will make each weapons feel unique and other planned weapons in future easier to be added.

I will show some WIP pictures of weapons below. 

This model is K-2. 

I wanted to model M4A1 before modelling this because I personally think AKM (AK47) and M4A1 should be in shooter games. However, K-2 also uses AR magazine, like M4A1, and it has 3-burst shot as well, so I chose to make this one first. 

By adding this, it will be easier to add the guns that uses burst shot, and the guns that uses AR magazine.

This model is Marlin 336. This gun is lever action rifle that has tube magazine. 

On the current version of Bounters, there is a shotgun with detachable magazine, which is MASG-12. I wanted to add a pump action shotgun first before adding MASG-12, but I made the weapons on Bounters works like an airsoft guns that shoots laser instead of white plastic balls without ejecting empty bullet casing, so I couldn't think of an idea how to make reload animation for tube magazines. 

Either this or the shotgun that I will add in future will have the animation.

This model is SPAS-12. It has both pump action and semi auto. 

I made this model while I was learning Blender, so it lacks some details. Since this is WIP model, I will add some details for sure.

Since this uses both pump action and semi auto, technically, Bounters can have 2 shotguns by adding one. Of course, I am going to add pump action shotguns and semi auto shotguns.

By the way, changing to pump action or semi auto will not change any stats.

This model is Rhino revolver. This revolver can be used as single action or double action revolver.

I need to think alternative reload animation, similar to tube magazine. However, this one would be a bit easier to make, because I can consider a cylinder as a magazine and detach it.

While this revolver can be used as single action or double action, it will not have fire mode change in game. I'm planning to implement single action as an animation. If you shoot it slow, it will act as single action. If you shoot fast, it will act as double action.

This is Thompson. 

Compared to other weapons, this one doesn't have unique options. The reason why I created this model, is that I was planning to modernize the old guns by adding buffer tube and rails on handguard. This one was the first one trying to modernize.

I lowered the priority of this gun because it lacks uniqueness other than modernization, but it will be added for sure.

This is Mosin Nagant. This is bolt action rifle that has internal magazine which is very similar with SKS in Bounters.

This one also lacks uniqueness compared to other weapons, but there is a sawed-off model called Obrez. I am planning to add both Mosin and Obrez in game at the same time, so maybe we can see double sniper guns meta in future.

Attachements

Attachments modifies the weapon that fits to players' gameplay style or desired appearance. Or maybe, players could try to make some cursed or meme weapons as well.

Foregrips will modify weapon's handling speed and little bit of recoil.
Muzzle devices will modify recoil and silencer will reduce sound.
Stocks are meant for cosmetics.

Here are some planned attachments in near future.

Field

Currently, Bounters has 1 field, which is called 'Apartment'. Apartment is created to be a CQC field inspired by Customs Dorms in Escape from Tarkov. However, I received some feedbacks about Apartment that is too simple and repetitive. Also, I want Bounters to have an outdoor field so I decided to create a new field called 'Outdoor Field'. Outdoor Field is inspired by an Airsoft and Paintball field. Since Bounters is inspired from Airsoft, and extraction shooter games (mostly Escape from Tarkov), it would be nice to have fields that is based on the places in real life or Airsoft and Paintball fields.

Although, if anyone is planning to create their own Bounters field, keep in mind that you can make whatever you want if it doesn't contain stuffs that is offensive or viruses. The idea above is just my theory, and you can have your own theory since it's your field.

Oh, and of course, Apartment and Outdoor Field is not a final version and willing to update during Early Access.

Bounters is currently available at Steam as Demo. Demo will be available until Early Access.
Bounters was available as Playtest before, and I think Demo is easier to access so I decided to change.
